Manna – April 4

“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.” – Colossians 3:3-4

There is a very deep and serious connection between a believer and Christ because the believer’s true identity is now found in Him. The phrase “you died” refers to the spiritual transformation that takes place when a person surrenders their old, self-centered way of living to follow Christ. This doesn’t mean physical death but rather a shift in priorities, where worldly desires no longer control our life. Being “hidden with Christ in God” refers to both security and a new purpose—we are no longer defined by earthly status or achievements but by our relationship with Christ. The passage also points to the future, promising that when Christ returns, those who belong to Him will share in His glory. How awesome it is to know that our ultimate hope is not in temporary things but in the eternal life we will experience with Christ.

We should be living with the understanding that our real identity is found in Christ, not in the approval of others or material success. Today’s passage encourages faithfulness even in difficult times, knowing that life with Christ has an eternal purpose. This perspective can bring peace amid struggles, as we trust that our lives are secure in God’s hands. It also calls for a shift in focus—rather than being consumed by temporary concerns, we are encouraged to seek God’s will, grow in faith, and reflect Christ’s character in daily life. By keeping our hearts set on the promise of eternity with Christ, we can live with confidence, purpose, and a deeper sense of fulfillment.
